Recipe | Fried Green Beans

1 lb green beans, washed, clipped ends
1 cup water
1 cup flour
2 cups bread crumbs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 egg beaten
olive oil

- rinse green beans, pat dry, cut off the ends
- add to pot of water, cover and boil until bright green
- drain, place in separate bowl and fill with cold water
- place the flour, beaten eggs, bread crumb mix (bread crumbs, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder) in three separate bowls
- take a few green beans and thoroughly coat in the flour, saturate in the egg mix and let the excess drip off, coat in the breadcrumb mix until completely breaded, put aside and repeat with all the green beans
- heat the olive oil in a large skillet on high heat
- place the green beans into the pan, avoid overcrowding the pan, let fry until golden brown and remove immediately to a wire rack or paper towel to drain excess oil and cool before serving

*Optional: dust the fried green beans with cracked sea salt
