Review | ELF Illuminating Palette

Every time I sit down to plan out a full face ELF makeup look, I'm always looking at my extensive collection wishing they would give us a true highlighter line, and now my wishes have been granted! The Illuminating Palette (aka the Ambient Palette that launched and sold out in minutes this Summer) is finally here and widely available for us all to grab one (or two) for ourselves!
"This beautiful illuminating palette holds 4 gorgeous complementary shades to mix and match for a custom blended radiance that captures, diffuses, and softens the way light reflects on the skin. The soft-focus powders are great for highlighting around the eyes and on cheekbones to enhance the skin with a luminous effect. Perfect for all skin tones."

Just like their Blush Palettes, Bronzer Palette, Contour Palette, and Foundation Palettes, the Illuminating Palette is in the same square quadrant packaging and priced at $6 like all the others. The pans can pop out, so if you own any of the other palettes, you can customize your own face palette (ideal for travelling). I LOVE that they have created this line of quads to pick and choose and build your own palettes. The quality of the highlighters are fabulous! They are soft, smooth, super fine feel with no glitters and surprisingly no shimmers.

They are very subtle and natural looking without seeming obvious or even detectable on the skin! I've worn the Illuminating Palette on bare skin and full makeup days, and no one can tell I have highlighter all over my face. The ELF Illuminating Palette is a true gem, affordable, attainable, and I believe a lot of skin tones can use this palette without worrying about color tint or ashiness. It's a must-have for all beauty buffs! :)

This is a minimal makeup look I threw on, it was an all matte face until I applied the Illuminating Palette nearly all over... I guess you could say it's a strobing look, but I mainly wanted to show how it looks without bronzer and blush.

And a low lighting close up to show just how inconspicuous the highlighters are on the skin.
