blog #3 - new things + updates

Hello! Hi! :) It’s been a long break from this website, as well as a long break from creating art. My life has been a wild ride this last year (let’s be honest, 3.5 years lol), but I finally jumped off the roller coaster to ground in my peace and have been working on building a new structure for my art career.

What’s New!

FRAMED ART PRINTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!

I’ve switched from printing and shipping in house, to using Printful to process orders - mainly because the quality of their prints and their frames are sooo nice! I ordered one for myself and I LOVE it - I plan to order more to be honest :)

Some details on the prints:

  • shipping will be USA only- it’s too expensive to offer outside of the country that I live in.

  • sizes will range from 8x10 inches up to 24x36 inches.

  • there are 3 frame colors available- black, white, red oak.

  • prices are calculated for me to make $10 per print, this feels like a comfortable profit for me to establish a livable income as I broaden my artworks and customer base.*

  • my artworks are unsigned - this might be faux pa for an artist but my goal is not to build a name for myself, it’s to get my art into environments, and I feel like signatures change the overall look of the works.

*the pricing is very important to me, (1) because I need to make a living, and (2) I want my art to be affordable enough for my customers to collect my works without stressing over expense.

ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS NOW AVAILABLE!

In addition to art prints through Printful, I will start to add some fun products from their catalog too. So far, I have dot gird journals, each one with a designed cover for special uses. Journaling is a passion of mine that I use in many different ways in my lifestyle, so I wanted to create some products that reflect my purpose and personality. I’m very open to suggestions as well, because these journals are for my customers to enjoy using and looking at the cover art :)

I’ve got one design so far for a sports bra, exercise is super important in my lifestyle as well, nearly daily I’m wearing active clothes - might as well design them myself. Luckily, the quality is much nicer than I truthfully expected. These designs take quite a bit of time to create and edit, so they won’t be quick product drops, but they will be coming out over time.

BRINGING BACK MACRAME!

Macrame is coming back to my website, not yet, because I need to prep shipping supplies as these will be sold directly from me and not through the Printful system, but I still have stock of items I made previously, and I have plans in the works for future designs. This I’m super excited about because I LOVE macrame, and I’ve been playing with ideas that incorporate a lot of fun elements that really sing to my artist soul :)

BRINGING BACK SEWN BAGS!

Would you believe, I have almost sold out of all of the sewn tie knot bags that I had made a few years ago! I have many fabrics ready to be sewn and restock my bag collection for the seasons to come. There’s no set release date for them, so it’s best to sign up for my newsletter or this blog so you’ll see when they are added to the website. I’m really excited for the themes I have already planned, and the future designs I want to create. These bags are so simple and versatile - many I use for my travel makeup, or stationery for journals/planners, and others I use for storing cute lil things because sometimes I get tired of boxes of stuff.

COMMISSIONS OPEN!

I’ve always enjoyed commission work, it’s a fun process to turn your specific ideas into reality, and I’ve had the opportunity to make some really cool stuff with people in the past. I’m pretty open and relaxed about commissions, if it’s something I can accomplish, I’ll say yes - if it’s something not attainable, I’ll be honest and offer compromise ideas to achieve your vision. I don’t have a set time frame for my commissions, it really depends on our conversations on what you want and how long it will take to complete - so it’s best to reach out and chat with me about your dream project and then we’ll work together from there.

That’s about it for the updates. I’m very excited for all the work I’ve put into restructuring my website and offerings, and for the plans I have moving forward! I’ll be updating this blog with progress and new things more regularly, since I got rid of my art Instagram and Twitch pages - now I only have my YouTube channel (which I also plan to make new things for eventually). Check back often and maybe you’ll find something you like :)
