Blog #7 - End of Year Update + New Year Intentions
💖 Hello hello! I have a lengthy post today, because I’ve been focusing on de-centering the internet in my lifestyle - spoiler alert it is great, highly recommend :) So, I’m going to try to stay chronological..
October was a busy month, it always is for me as my first born has an early month birthday, and then the fall season activities are in full swing, and the lead up to Halloween was more eventful than in past years. This year, both of my kids requested homemade costumes, so I spent about 3 weeks learning my way through sewing 2 costumes with no background in sewing clothes prior hahaha it was challenging, learning, and memorable. I’m proud of the works I created for them, and so pleased that they found them to be amazing and perfect for what they envisioned for themselves 🥰
The lessons I learned:
Invest in good quality burlap to sew because low quality will shed horrendously throughout the entire process.
Sewing a dress is all about following steps, do not attempt short cuts.
Interfacing is awesome stuff!
High quality thread is worth the extra effort to find and buy.
You can be good at anything if you want to be good it!
November was really fun! My son had a play performance with his choir group in school, we did a mini road trip out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday to visit family, and I completed a gorgeous painting commission for a friend of mine. Before sending off the original to it’s new home, I did scan it for prints to offer here on my website. The prints do not do it full justice though - the original has layers of metallic colors, and a sheen of iridescence so it shimmers and appears in movement when viewing in person - the prints, do not have those unique effects. However, it is still beautiful as a scan and I hope to make more in this style in the future, maybe even some smaller originals to sell here.
December has been really nice!! We had another choir performance to enjoy, a school event for holiday shopping with local vendors, and of course the kids were finishing up their first semester and looking forward to ending the year with good grades in all of their classes. They really did an amazing job as students and keeping up with their responsibilities - there were some challenges, but they learned about themselves and found ways to make improvements that they are proud of. As the winter break started, we dove into video gaming together - catching up on the Life is Strange series, started a new Stardew Valley family farm, and building lego sets at the dining table altogether. We always look forward to winter as a beautiful time for connection and fruitful conversations that bond us together more and more over the years. At this point, Christmas has come and gone, and it was sooo much fun! The kids got a few toys this year, with a decent amount of VR video games sprinkled in, but they’re very much in a phase of creative play and enjoying slower time to hang out with each other, so this means more game nights this year. Which I love and fully want to support :)
End of the Year - Reflections & New Year Intentions
2025 was a highly creative and productive year for me - both personally and professionally. I set out to build a foundation for my art career, focusing on my website behind the scenes - reorganizing structure, condensing outsourcing, and establishing intentions with my artwork productions. I achieved it all, and am very proud of the energy I invested. I also have been planning my business goals for next year - expanding marketing, organizing seasonal projects, and preparing the stepping stones for financial improvements. I’m so excited to get to work on everything I’ve been dreaming about for years and years. I have this vibration in my artist lifestyle that carries me forward no matter where I am, what I’m experiencing personally, or what I’m planning for the future of my family. This confidence in optimism is very realistic and logical for me, which is not easy to gain as an entrepreneur - it’s years worth of experiences and wisdom gaining. It becomes a sustainable cycle of presence and pride that feels secure to rely on, no matter what shifts and changes occur from the natural evolution of living life.
In the new year, I have many plans, but the most important - and easiest to share - are my lifestyle improvements:
Disconnecting from the internet: I first got on social media as a blogger in the 2010’s, and now I see it has evolved into something that I do not enjoy enough to keep participating in. I’ve decided to only keep my Youtube channel as a form of creative outlet and outreach, which means I’ll be deleting my instagram this year and clearing my tiktok to only be an audience to other artists and creatives in the world.
Health & well being: I’ve spent the past few years keeping a regular exercise and dietary lifestyle that really suits me, and this year I plan to be even more intentional and purposeful in that part of my personal life. It has become a foundation of peace and presence for me, so I want to upgrade the priority it has in my daily life. Plus, my kids are teenagers now and they are ready to start learning these habits for themselves and develop a healthy relationship with their bodies from a place of inner self connection and sustainability.
Creating art without the internet: This past year I have experimented with my artistry and my internet disconnection. What do I create when I’m not worried about external perception? The answer was truest beauty and deepest intention. It is a mind altering experience when you create for yourself and derive pride in your work on your own - completely detached from anyone else’s opinion or compliment. So, I’ll be continuing this creative practice in the new year to begin a lifelong relationship with the artist in me, who thrives when creating while in solitude and peace.
Slowness: Collectively, all of my new year intentions are coming from a state of slowness. To be present, not just in the “moment”, but to precisely choose the awareness of being present in the minute! Time does not exist if we are not aware of it - so I’ll be prioritizing the state of mind that I have infinite time to exist within the scheduling of my children and my responsibilities - I will never be lacking in time, or daylight hours, or days in the month, or years of my life. It might sound kinda “out there” for some, but when we expand our knowledge to include the lawless freedom of quantum truths, it’s actually a much more “in here” sounding concept ;)
In closing, I want to say, thank you for supporting my business and my purpose - so much appreciation and love! ! As some of my friends and people who know of me are aware, I have had a challenging, heartbreaking, and life-altering last 5 years. And I worked really hard to be present throughout it all, to feel everything and honor my gift of sensitivity from my soul, to heal and let go and remain patient for life to evolve and proceed. I’m in a truly peaceful state of mind and existence! I create everything from my fingertips, from my heart, from my divinity, and I have healed everyone in my energetic space - and will infinitely continue to. Again, thank you to everyone who has and continues to support me, through friendship, connection, buying my art, investing in my coaching, and seeing me as clearly and truly as my authenticity presents itself. These moments feel like the beginning of the rest of my adult life and it is thrilling to be at the start of dreams to watch them manifest before me and feed this energy into everyone else around me. We are all growing and developing and succeeding!! I’m so happy for myself, my children, my family, and my friends. Love is life, life is LOVE.
